Well, here I am...in Zambia! It doesn't feel like it yet. I have a feeling that in a few weeks I'll wake up one morning and it'll dawn on me that I'm living in Africa, doing something totally different to anything I've ever done before and I might all of a sudden feel a bit lost and homesick, but at the moment, I'm loving it!
Mind you I've had a easy start. The whole team who have been out here a while now, have taken a holiday and we're down in Livingstone for a few days. We've been to see Victoria Falls which are stunning, even now while they're at their driest. We walked across the top bit and paddled through the river at the top and saw some amazing views. Once the rainy season starts the area we walked across disappears under water!
We're having an easy day today - I'm still shattered from packing up my house and travelling so it's good to sit still for a bit. On Sunday we're going to tackle the 12 or 13 hour drive to Chingola where we'll be living for the majority of our time here. Not looking forward to rattling around in the car for that long! But once there, we can get to work properly. The team have organised a conference for the local pastors which is taking place next Saturday so I think a lot of next week will be taken up sorting out the plans for that...
Anyway, I'm off to spot a croc, or a hippo or something big like that I should probably be a little scared of but find quite amazing! Until next time... x x
